The utilization of enterprise resource planning (ERP) has recently been on the rise in the delivery of services in many sectors. Within the government, the ERP has been employed to assist in the provision of crucial services. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of implementing an ERP on service delivery in Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA). The study was guided by three objectives namely to; establish how ERP system had been implemented, determine the extent to which the implementation of ERP systems had contributed to service delivery and to determine the effect of ERP implementation on service delivery. The study employed the descriptive research. The study targeted all the 200 employees of KURA and stratified random sampling technique was used to select a sample size of 67 respondents. Questionnaires were used in data collection, which was quantitatively analysed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The study found that KURA implemented ERP through various processes including data capture (73%), system support and monitoring (78%), user training (63%), planning and system support (94%). Using regression analysis, the study found that use, quality and business dimensions of ERP systems were positively correlated to service delivery and they significantly affected the implementation of ERP at coefficients of 3.067, 1.082 and 0.063 respectively. The study concluded that KURA employees were knowledgeable on data acquisition, monitoring and user training ERP systems. That user training was the main challenge facing the implementation of ERP system apart from planning, user support and poor connectivity. A combined effort from the key stakeholders was recommended to ensure that the implementation of the ERP system is successful. The study also recommended that effective strategies need to be employed to ensure that organizational and financial aspects are aligned to meet customers’ needs.en_US
