dc.description.abstract | Spiritual formation is a process that brings the heart of a human being into conformity to the will and deeds of Jesus Christ. The researcher sought to establish how the teenagers at Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) Karen perceived the programmes used by the Church for spiritual formation and how this has affected their spiritual lives. The objectives of this study were; to evaluate the programmes offered by CITAM Karen for spiritual formation; find out the perceptions of the teenagers towards the spiritual nurture of the programmes and to determine the effectiveness of spiritual formation programmes towards teenagers’ spiritual growth. The researcher used both quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection which was undertaken by administering questionnaires and conducting interviews. The methods of sampling used in this research were random and purposive sampling. The study utilized Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21 for data analysis. The target population was 700 teenagers who had worshipped at CITAM Karen regularly for the last 1 year and above. A pre-test was conducted at CITAM Woodley, a sister Church of CITAM Karen. This indicated that the level of awareness of spiritual programs among the teenagers of CITAM Karen was high. The teenager perceives the programs conducted and important and relevant. The study further indicated that quite number programs are relevant to them and teenagers at CITAM Karen enjoy being participants. The study recommended the following: There is a need for CITAM Karen to put up structures that sensitize teenagers on the existing spiritual formation programs; that the church leadership needs to emphasize on the necessity for parents to engage their teenagers in participating in spiritual programs. Finally, that CITAM Karen reviews its spiritual formation programs to make them more frequent during the weekends and during school holidays. | |
