dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to assess the influence of workforce diversity on employee performance of microfinance institutions in Kenya using Musoni Kenya Limited as the case study. The specific objectives of the study were to establish the dimensions of workforce diversity at Musoni Kenya Limited; to determine the extent to which dimensions of workforce diversity affected employee performance at Musoni Kenya; to establish the challenges in the management of workforce diversity dimensions at Musoni Kenya and to establish the measures applied in assessing employee performance at Musoni Kenya. The study adopted descriptive researcher design. The target population comprised of 87 staff from Musoni. The researcher used a census approach and therefore the 87 formed the sample size. Primary data was collected using structured questionnaires. The collected data was coded and analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software version 23. The findings were presented using frequency distribution tables and graphs. The study established that the majority of the respondents believed that workforce diversity influenced employee performance at Musoni Kenya. The study also revealed that Musoni appreciated diverse educational backgrounds, differences in physical appearance, different marital status and religion affiliations of its employees. There was also appreciation of different genders and ethnic diversity. The study recommends that the top management of Musoni Kenya Ltd and all microfinance institutions in Kenya should strengthen the dimensions of workforce diversity by acknowledging and respecting individual differences and similarities at the workplace in order to enhance creativity, employee loyalty and maximize productivity.en_US
