Abstract
Abstract their children's first teachers and therefore have a significant impact on their z-e.-•ccrnt and well beyond the adolescent years. They have the potential to create that motivate the child to be engaged in learning activities, prepare and support abilities and have confidence in learning. School in the motivation of their children's learning.The researcher used cross-sectional design and data was collected using self-administered questionnaires, focused group and structured interview guides on the various respondents. On the basis of the findings, the researcher concluded that aspects of parents' involvement motivated their learning activities in school and at home. These included reminding the children to and work harder (90.7%), making sure that the home environment was quiet when at home (78%), checking that homework was done (64.4%), parents attending meetings when invited to do so (70.3%). However only 53.4% of the pupils stated that being of home chores motivated them while 58.5% felt that parents talking to teachers about s:hool progress did not motivate them at all. 64.4% of the pupils and 57.9% of teachers that parents do have challenges in involving themselves in their children's learning
The above indicators led the researcher to identify those aspects of parental
