dc.description.abstract | This study sought to assess the influence of competitive strategies on organizational performance of SMEs listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange, focusing on Home Afrika. This study was guided by the following objectives; to establish the competitive strategies adopted by Home Afrika, to assess the indicators of organizational performance of Home Afrika and to determine the influence of the competitive strategies on the organizational performance of Home Afrika. This study adopted a descriptive survey design. The study utilized primary data which was collected through closed and open-ended questionnaires. Quantitative data obtained was analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences Version 22 (SPSS) for descriptive statistics such as percentages, mean, standard deviations, and variance. From the findings, 46% of the respondents strongly agreed that the organization used cost minimization in research and development, the findings also established that 47.1% of the respondents agreed to a great extent that there had been a reduction in variable cost in the organization. From the study, 40.2% of the respondents strongly agreed that the volumes of sales had increased since implementation of competitive strategies. The study concluded that market share had grown due to implementation of competitive strategies thus gaining profitability. The study concluded that there was a significant positive relationship between differentiation strategies, cost leadership, focus strategy and organization performance. This study recommended that differentiation, cost leadership and focus strategies should be highly adopted in order to promote SMEs performance. Measures should be taken by the organization to enhance the adoption of corporate growth strategy in order to reap the benefits accrued from its adoption. | en_US |
