Abstract
The process of creating, storing, retrieving, and sharing knowledge and expertise inside an organization to enhance and support its business performance is known as knowledge management or KM. Businesses are starting to understand that information is an important resource that has to be handled carefully. To become innovative as well as remain competitive, organizations must leverage knowledge. To be successful, KM necessitates a significant change in organizational culture and dedication from all levels of a company. An organization may apply all of its organizational learning and expertise to any problem, wherever it is on the globe, at any time, preferably through good knowledge management (KM) and a supportive organizational climate. The paper presents a thesis that knowledge management is the way forward for the success of institutions. Through a review of existing literature and research, this paper seeks to explore the challenges experienced by organizations in knowledge management and coping with emerging trends. Drawing insight from the findings of the study. This paper will make recommendations for institutions that are not embracing the new trends highlighting the value of km.
