Its objectives were to; identify the talent management practices that were in place, determine the level of employee retention and examine the effect of talent management practices on employee retention. The study used a descriptive research design. The study targeted all the 60 Shalem Investment Limited employees and used a census approach of selection. Questionnaires were used in data collection, which was analysed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). Among talent management practices established were recruitment and selection (97%), compensation and rewards (83%), with the least being training and development at 32%. The study also revealed a high level of employee retention at 75%. The study concluded that there was a strong positive relationship between Shalem Investment Limited’s talent management practices and its employee retention and that Shalem staffs underwent training to learn specific skills to improve performance in their roles to foster employee retention.
