T This study focused on the role of diplomacy in Kenya's Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs), specifically the Kenya Investment Authority (KenInvest), from 2010 to 2021, in driving development. IPAs serve as catalysts for economic transformation by attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) and facilitating domestic investment, fostering economic growth and development. Three research objectives were pursued: examining the profile of foreign investors seeking information from KenInvest, analyzing KenInvest's diplomatic approaches for economic development, and assessing the effectiveness of these strategies in promoting growth in Kenya. The study employed mixed-methods research, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches, with 15 key informants selected through purposive sampling. Data collection utilized interviews and content analysis, revealing that categorizing foreign investors based on nationality, investment experience, objectives, and sector preferences enabled tailored engagement strategies. Preferred diplomatic strategies included branding, marketing, and investment promotion campaigns, enhancing investor confidence and creating an enabling environment. KenInvest's resource allocation aligned with the strategies' impact, ensuring focused efforts. The study concludes that KenInvest's proactive approach, through diverse diplomatic strategies, contributes to an investor-friendly environment, showcases opportunities, and fosters international relationships, promoting Kenya's economic growth. Recommendations include maintaining consistency, transparency, and efficient execution in diplomatic efforts and collaboration with other government institutions to enhance services for potential investors while sustaining Kenya's economic development.
