dc.description.abstractThe study sought to establish the determinants of effective implementation of one stop border post strategy by the Kenya Revenue Authority. It was guided by the following objectives; To establish the effect of ICT on the implementation of one stop border strategy at KRA; to determine the effect of employee training on the implementation of one stop border strategy at KRA; to examine the effect of legislation on the implementation of one stop border strategy at KRA and to find out the challenges facing implementation of one stop border strategy at KRA. The target population for this study was the 725 employees of Kenya Revenue Authority. The sample size was 73 employees which was 10% of the population. Stratified random sampling was used in the study. Primary data was collected through questionnaires. Data analyzing software Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 20.0 (SPSS) was used. The study findings indicated that effective strategy implementation had a positive and significant effect on ICT, employee training and legislation. The study led to conclusion that one stop border strategy at KRA had been implemented by use of ICT; by employee training and that one stop border strategy at KRA had been implemented by legislation. The study recommended that in order to maintain security, comprehensive policies and administrative structures need to be developed, the Government and its various agencies, should realize the importance of training, and virtually set up various training schools for human resource development and that more awareness should be created about the one stop border strategy (OSBP) Act and its provisions.
