The influence of psycho-social factors (occupational burnout, operational stress, long work hours and shift work, and fatigue) on service delivery is an important area that requires attention from scholars hence the need for research focusing on Kenya’s police officers. The objectives of the study were to investigate how occupational stress influences service delivery, establish how burnout syndrome influences service delivery, find out how long working hours and shift influence service delivery and determine the correlation between psycho-social factors and service delivery at The Central Police Division, Nairobi County. Central police division includes DCI central, DCI Kamkunji, DCI Parliament and Parliament Police station. Self-efficacy theory and Lazarus and Folkman's Psychological Stress and Coping Theory formed the theoretical basis upon which the study was founded. A descriptive research design was used in this study to help explain the phenomenon under investigation. Purposive sampling technique was adopted to select the police stations as well as the respondents who were police officers who had served in the police force for at least six months. Target population was 1083 with a sample size of 142. The analysis of results revealed that occupational stress and burnout were prevalent among the participants. The researcher also found that long working hours affected the respondent service delivery. Overall, the level of occupational stress, burnout, and working hours had negative impact on job performance and service delivery among police officers.
