dc.description.abstract | Increasing challenges in the current competitive business environment has led to a need of frequently changing the way business is conducted. Much of the change is geared towards fostering growth that is sustainable. Strategic change management is a structured approach for ensuring that changes are thoroughly and smoothly implemented and for achieving lasting benefits of change. This study aimed to find out the effect of strategic change management in public service on employee performance with a case study of Huduma Kenya. The objectives of the study were: to establish the effect of change management on service delivery; to assess the effects of change management on employee performance; to identify the challenges faced due to change management and its impact on employee performance and to determine the relationship between change management and employee performance. The study used descriptive research design and questionnaires to collect and analyse data. A census was used to collect data and the data analysed quantitatively and qualitatively with the help of Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 23 (SPSS). The study found that Huduma Centre desired to improve on effectiveness in service delivery. The study established that employees` resistance to change is a challenge to a very great extent. The study concludes that change management improved the respective employees’ level of accuracy, handled tasks by employees, quality of work output, employees’ turnaround time and employee technical skills. The study recommends that the centre needs to readily fight employees resistance to change by adopting employee training and empowerment programs. The study also recommends that change management ought to be readily adopted as it enhances the level of employees’ accuracy. | en_US |
