Business Re-engineering (BR) refers to an organization’s reorganization of its operations and processes so to improve their customer services, their products and reduce on costs in a bid to attain global competitiveness. This study sought to establish the effect of business re-engineering approaches on the organization performance of Equity Bank. The theories adopted included the Resource Based View, Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Diffusion of Innovation Theory. Descriptive research design was employed. The study population was 6,710 from which a sample of 63 respondents was randomly selected. Structured questionnaires were used to collect data from the respondents. To verify the validity and reliability of the study instruments, a pre-test study was conducted on 7 respondents drawn from departments not actively involved in the study. Descriptive statistics was used to calculate the mean and standard deviation. Inferential statistics was performed using Pearson’s Correlation to test the relationship between variables at 95% confidence interval where p-values of ≤ 0.05 were considered significant. SPSS version 23.0 was used to analyse data. The findings of the study established that product re-engineering at 85.5% was the most employed approach by the bank compared to process and operations re-engineering. Further, 72.6% of the respondents indicated that the bank’s performance had improved due to adoption of BR. Finally, BR had a positive significant effect on the performance of Equity Bank. The conclusion was that the adoption of BR approaches led to the increase in the bank’s competitive edge, growth in customer base and increase in market share. A recommendation was suggested to identify the areas of BR that would result to the highest level of performance at Equity Bank.en_US
