dc.description.abstract | This study explored the role internal communication plays in enhancing organizational identity at the Kenya Police SACCO. Organizational identity is an important aspect in any organization because when employees identify with their employers then it will affect the corporate identity, reputation and their performance. The researcher did the study at the Kenya Police SACCO where the company had challenges in internal communication therefore affecting their organizational identity. This study therefore wanted to achieve the following; to know the specific roles internal communication plays at the Kenya Police SACCO, to evaluate the channels used at the Kenya Police SACCO and determine the influence internal communication plays in enhancing organizational identity. Exploratory research design was used so as to give more insight on this topic. The researcher used two data collection instruments; questionnaires and interviews. The target population was the Kenya Police SACCO employees who are while the sample size was 70 employees who work at the headquarters. The researcher used stratified sampling technique to get a representation of each cadre. Content analysis was used to analyze qualitative data while quantitative data was analyzed using SPSS 20. The finding was internal communication enhances organizational identity among employees if the messages sent through the right channel are efficient for their day to day operations. The preferred channels by employees at the Kenya Police SACCO were face to face communication, internal phone calls, letters and memos. The main recommendations from this study are for Kenya Police SACCO to ensure all employees have the knowledge on their SACCOs mission and vision and embrace face to face communication. | |
