Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine factors that affect communication between teachers and students in a Christian institution with a view to propose guidelines for better relationships. The study was carried out at Kenya Highlands Bible College among 64 students and 8 teachers. Three methods were used namely survey, field observations and focus group discussions. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires, obser- vation checklists, in-depth interview schedule and moderator's guide for focus group discussions. Results indicated that teachers and students generally perceived communica- tion between them the same way, even though their ways of doing so differed to some degree.
