dc.description.abstractAccording to the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, solid waste management is one of the indicators used to assess the quality of life. Many countries have formulated a policy on solid waste management. This is because solid waste management has become very crucial in the development of countries due to the increased pollution through the solid waste. Countries perform well in the solid waste management are seen to be serious in their sustainability efforts. This article reviews public policy in relation to solid waste management.en_US
