Development and Evaluation Development and Evaluation of an e-courseware prototype, based on the Interactive Digital Multimedia Communication strategy for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) curriculum

Abstract

The researcher designed, developed and evaluated an e-courseware prototype, based on the emerging interactive multimedia communication strategy intended to achieve specific learning objectives for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Edu- cation (KCSE) curriculum. The prototype was inspired by Shannon's and Weaver's information theory and Schramm's communication models. The study elicited data from students, facilitators and participatory observation. The results of the analysis of this data provide empirical evidence of communica- tion behaviour based on the interactive multimedia communication strategy suit- able for the students pursuing KCSE curriculum. This information would guide e- courseware developers on the efficacy of the multimedia elements
