The purpose of this study was to assess strategic implementation approaches being implemented by Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) and their impact on employee motivation. A descriptive survey was employed and the investigation was conducted at Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) head office. Purposive sampling technique was used to select a sample size of 52 RBA employees. Questionnaires were used in data collection which was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 20. The findings indicated that RBA used collaborative, crescive and cultural approaches. The evidence of use of this approaches includes staff training, involvement in decision making, rewarding of employees for a good job, encouragement of innovativeness, nurture of employee relationship, infusion of a corporate culture throughout the organization, allowing employees to design their own work procedures and observance of work/life. It was however found that these strategies were used to a low extent. The study concluded that the approaches used in strategy implementation were lowly used and due to this fact, employee motivation was low. Similarly, the level of employee motivation at RBA did not result in improved work performance. The study recommended that RBA should simplify its policies and ensure that they are accessible at all places and in formats that are user friendly to employees such as on the intranet; in booklet form; are regularly shared on the company newsletter; workshops are held to explain the implications of policies; one-on-ones and group meetings conducted by human resources section
