Churches are often held to high standards of morals and ethics with the assumption that they operate based on religious principles. Despite this, churches have occasionally failed in their standards and the society has also failed to make them accountable for their actions. The research objectives included to; look at elements enabling corruption in churches; explore the degree M&E have been applied to tackle corruption in church institutions; look at the socio-economic impacts of corruption on the safety of worshippers; and evaluate the plans that can be implemented to reduce corruption in churches. A descriptive study model was used. The study’s targeted population was 219 pastoral council officials in Ruiru Catholic Deanery, Kiambu County. The study used probability and non-probability sampling. Primary data was collected through structured questionnaires, with interviewing guides being utilized in the KIs. Statistical data was analyzed using mean, standard deviations, measures of central tendency and dispersion. Presentation of analyzed data was done through tables, charts, bar graphs and narrations. The study established that M&E has been rarely adopted as a management tool to address corruption among Churches. It was found that 72% of the respondents agreed that lack of expertise is a challenge that hinders effective adoption of M&E practices among Churches. 94% of the respondents agreed that effective planning and implemented policies is one of the strategies that could be used to enhance adoption of M&E M=4.76, SD=0.57). The study recommends workshops and future research be conducted in order to promote the awareness about the role and contribution of the M&E system.enMonitoring And EvaluationCorruptionChurchesKenyaRuiru Catholic DeaneryKiambu CountyThe Role Of Monitoring And Evaluation In Addressing Corruption Among Churches In Kenya: A Case Of Ruiru Catholic Deanery In Kiambu CountyThesis
