Platforms on social media have provided avenues for communication with numerous advantages and disadvantages, and questions regarding integrity and respect of privacy and the legal issues have come up thus, raising ethical concerns on students locally and globally. The objectives of this studywere to find out the practices of social media among Daystar University students, examining the ethical values that guide the use of social mediaand to analyse the influence of social media use on the ethical values of students with regard to the core values of Daystar University. The Uses and Gratification and Media Dependency theories guide this study. Descriptive research design employing, both qualitative and quantitative methods were implored, with the use of questionnaire, and observation sessions were used. The results showed that students freely share personal information on social networks some of which is risky, they read the terms and conditions before signing to social media andsome students have compromised integrity and privacy by using other person‟s photos and content without their permission and this shows lack of integrity. Social media platforms raise several issues concerning the privacy and security of their users. The researcher recommends that Daystar University should enlighten students on use of social media and come up with policies for students to be more careful on their use of social media.
