The study aimed at addressing the effect of employee productivity on the performance of the security sector in South Sudan, with a focus on the Ministry of Defence in Juba. The specific objectives were to ascertain ways of gauging employee productivity at the Ministry of Defence in Juba, determine measures of performance at the Ministry of Defence in Juba, and determine the effect of employee productivity on performance at the Ministry of Defence in Juba. The research was anchored on the resource dependency theory, human relation theory, and game theory. Descriptive research design was used The target population of the study was 1246 out of which a sample of 124 was drawn. The research only used primary data which was collected by the use of a questionnaire. Pretesting of the instrument was conducted to ascertain validity and reliability of the tool. The findings of the research indicated a positive correlation between employee productivity and performance in the Ministry of Defence in Juba and also revealed that the Ministry uses individual, team and collective outputs to measure its level of productivity. The fndings also showed that the ministry uses longterm solvency, efficiency of transactions, and effectiveness of operations to measure its perfomance, as supported by over 76.6% of the respondents.
