It seeks to explore the physical, socio-economic, psychological, and spiritual effects experienced by mothers in this context. Drawing from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) and the caregivers' burden theory by Liu et al (2020), this research utilized a descriptive survey design. The study involved a sample of 60 mothers of CWDs registered with the Gender and Social Development Department in Matuu, along with six purposively selected key informants. Data was collected through questionnaires for primary respondents and in-depth interviews with key informants, combining primary and secondary data sources. Analysis was conducted using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 27. The findings reveal that mothers in Matuu Ward experience multifaceted challenges in caring for their children with disabilities. Psychological effects, including heightened stress, emotional exhaustion, societal stigma, and the strain of meeting external expectations, significantly impact their well-being. Financial burdens further exacerbate their economic stability and overall quality of life. However, the study also highlights the critical role of spirituality in providing hope, comfort, and resilience to many of these mothers. Mothers employ various coping strategies, such as acceptance and adaptation, positive thinking, spiritual practices, self-compassion, and seeking information and education, demonstrating their remarkable resilience. This study underscores the need for a holistic approach to support and inclusion for mothers raising children with disabilities in MatuuWardenChildrenDisabilityMothersHolistic Well-BeingRuralKenyaAssessing Effects Of Children’s Disability On Their Mothers’ Holistic Well-Being In Rural Kenya: A Case Matuu Ward, Machakos CountyThesis
