Adolescents steadily differ and demand more independence from their parents. During adolescence, there are always high developmental changes as one grows from infancy to adulthood. In a bid to gain autonomy, they end up engaging in risky behaviors, which affect their lives in both the short and long term. Some of the likely risky behaviors include but not limited to; risky sexual risk behaviors, drug abuse, illegal businesses, and many other risks. The specific objectives for this study included finding out the prevalent attachment styles amongst girls in Nyakach Sub County, assessing the risky sexual behaviors that the girls engage in, determining the attachment styles that is linked to sexual efficacy amongst adolescents in the Subcounty. The study applied correlational descriptive research design using qualitative and quantitative data. The target population of the study was grade 7 students in the Junior Secondary school. The sample size was comprised of 154 students from selected schools in the county. The results of the study were analyzed using SPSS version 24 and presented in tables, graphs, and frequencies. The results confirmed high prevalence of different types of attachment styles. It was also evident from regression analysis that attachment styles predicted risky sexual behavior and sexual aggression among the participants with ambivalent attachment as a significant predictor of sexual aggression and risky sexual behavior.
