Abstract

church is facing challenges of ownership and commitment among adult population in the parish have dropped from the parish after a brief stay to weak leadership in some church departments and weak transition of concern of this study was to undertake a leadership assessment within the analyze its effect on the performance within Nairobi Diocese. The purpose to establish and assess the effect of leadership on organizational performance selected Anglican Churches in Nairobi. A descriptive cross-sectional design for this study. The target population composed of one hundred and fifty of all officers within the Pumwani archdeaconry which included the proportionate random sampling technique was used to select the sample. the study used simple random sampling to select a sample of 30% (46 the researcher used qualitative and quantitative data from both xoaodary sources. The researcher used a semi-structured questionnaire and focus as the primary data collection tools. The questionnaire was administered using later method. In addition, the study conducted focus group discussions using face '*ith the church members and a multivariate regression model was applied to relative importance of each of the six variables with respect to organizational. Tbe study found that democratic and servant leadership were used to a large extent leadership affected the church performance more than servant leadership. zz:cmends that organizations should train church leadership in practical servant order to enhance their performance.
