dc.description.abstractThe digitization era has brought about significant changes and challenges for the Nation media group as traditional methods of content creation, distribution, and consumption have evolved in response, the Nation Media Group has been forced to intensify their talent management practices to enhance their employees’ productivity. This study aimed to investigate the effect of talent management practices on employee productivity at the Nation Media Group. The research objectives of the study were to establish the talent management practices of employees at the Nation Media Group, to find out productivity of employees at the Nation Media Group and to investigate the effect of talent management practices on productivity of employees at the Nation Media Group. The study was supported by human capital theory, key competence theory and social exchange theory. A descriptive research design was employed and a target population of 1,253 employees. This study was based on multi-stage sampling methods to select 131 respondents to reflect the overall respondents’ opinions. Data was collected through questionnaires containing both open-ended and closed-ended questions. There is a weak negative and insignificant correlation between employee productivity and talent sourcing and rewards and recognition. It also shows that there is a weak positive and insignificant correlation between employee productivity and knowledge management, employee relations and organization culture. The results imply that employee productivity is determined to a greater extent by employee relations followed by knowledge management, then talent sourcing and lastly rewards and recognition. The study recommends that; the organization should continue to embrace innovative talent sourcing practices and keep pace with the latest recruitment technologies and methods.
